The Crest at Willow-Witt
New Location! Our residential program takes place at The Crest at Willow-Witt located 13 miles east of Ashland in the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument. In this residential program, students will participate in field lessons, exploratory hikes, and night programs with access to wetlands, forests, and a working farm. The night wraps up with a campfire and an evening sleeping in canvas tents.

Food For Thought
Each group that attends a residential program at the Crest at Willow-Witt will have the option to participate in Food For Thought, a unit that focuses on sustainability and the sources of our food.
Food for Thought is an integrated part of our program in which food is used as a pathway to understand the direct connection between ourselves and Earth’s ecosystems. Around the world, food is a central part of culture and always brings people together. The process of harvesting, cooking and eating together brings our interdependence with nature into the context of our daily experiences. Throughout the curriculum of Fall in the Field, we strive to better students’ understanding of how they can coexist with the natural world, rather than live separately from it.
We enrich the residential experience by helping students cook a delicious and healthy veggie taco meal made from locally grown ingredients. We are grateful to be able to provide this at no additional cost due to generous donations by a variety of local vendors, including the Farm at SOU and the Ashland Food Co-op.
